Weekly Update 10.10

Disclaimer: This is being written about a project that is in progress, what is an attempt to give you a glimpse of the process of making the game and abilities and powers discussed in this blog my not work as described here.

Its been a pretty quiet week here at Hero's Journey not for lack of work, quite the opposite. Here's what I was able to get from this week's meeting.

This week saw the team continuing to review and make tweaks to systems based on playtesting feedback. The blog has been pretty quiet due to Anne's other obligations... seriously she works harder than anyone I know, and as the previous post explained, she should be back next week.

As to what I can say regarding progress. Both John and Anne continue to make tweaks to the chapters for clarity. They have also put the finishing touches on reproduction so it will be possible for your heros to potentially, um, uh, create hero's of their own.

John and Anne are also working on the final bit of character creation, specifically what benefits you get from your patron god. Right now this has loomed over their work for the past week. The previous system was a compromise, but upon revisiting it neither was satisfied. They have been locked in brainstorming and debating alternatives. As soon as a new compromise is reached, I will let you know.

Many of the chapters have also been handed to VoidShaper for review and to start the process of figuring out the layout. There's still a lot to be done, but it's starting to all come together. John is due to send him the final layout for talents within the Web of Fate so that they can be finalized.

In art news, work is being done on the North American map, it's taking some time because there are a lot of divine influences. Also, the Kickstarter NPC descriptions that have been received have been sent to their artists for their portraits. There are still a couple who are outstanding though.  If this is you, you'll also get emails but I'll reiterate here. It's getting close to the deadline to get your NPC in the core book. If you miss it, they will still honor making an NPC for you, but it will be in a later supplemental book.

Next week we should be back onto a regular schedule, it still looks like the Norse pantheon is still pending, and still has the edge on the Greeks in the informal forum voting. Next Monday you can expect to see Anne discussing their Devotional Domain.

Have a great weekend!
