Hey, everybody! It's Friday, and Friday is art day!
One of our favorite things about RPG books (and probably a lot of yours, too) is getting to see some neat artwork that really gives you a sense of the world and theme of the game. Since mythologies around the world and the gods that populate them are the major theme of Hero's Journey, we've been looking forward to seeing some of them "in the flesh", so to speak, since day one.
We have a ton of awesome artists working with us to make this game look as great as it plays, and two of them are the awesome and indomitable Samantha and Stephanie Braithwaite. Canadian artists with hearts of gold and pens of magic, they have been hard at work on various images for the upcoming game.
As you can see, one of the first things they tackled was some Egyptian awesomeness. These are rough sketches from the planning phase, and while not all of them will end up being finished products in the book, they pretty much all knock our socks off. Sam and Steph are excellent at energy, excitement, and personality; their images of gods look like living and breathing beings, not just ancient wall paintings or religious icons.
We'd love to show off everything these artists have done so far, because they've done everything from exciting sketches to kickass lineart to diabolically awesome painting and more, but we've got to leave something as a surprise for the book itself, right?
If you'd like to see more of these ladies' work, you can visit Steph's DeviantArt gallery here, and Sam's here. Show them some love!
